Arkaitsz was Isha's student in the AgriCorps, and the two remained close afterwards. They inherited Isha's specialty for genetic manipulation, and they worked specifically with plants and bacteria to clean up worlds that were made uninhabitable and toxic.

For the years they were without their own crystal, Arkaitsz carried Isha’s lightsaber, the already bonded stone not bothering them as unbonded stones do. Isha meanwhile made herself a second lightsaber. They would actually trade off every time they saw each other. When Isha's first lightsaber was returned after the rise of the Empire, she combined both crystals into one lightsaber. Her lightsaber is still and always hers, but the decades spent being wielded by Arkaitsz means that it remained uncommonly willing to be wielded by them as well.

They've got something to do with the Darkside going on with them, and their lightsaber has a naturally red crystal which appears to have been taken from the lightsaber of the ancient Sith Lord Darth Cision.

Job

They're the second in command of the ship, the quartermaster, and one of the fighters.

Fighting Skills

Arkaitsz is pretty flexable about forms and a good fighter. Many of the forms they used aren't recognizable as anything anyone else is currently using.

Languages

Arakaitsz knows several different versions of Basic and Aurebesh, all of the Sith dialects recorded by the time of Darth Cision (over 100, but at least 23 if I'm being generous with language shifts over time given that I want them to know back to Pre Galactic Republic dialects/language variants), Darth Cision Era and current Huttese and Mandalorian, and current Kimana and Dai Bendu.

Relationships

Savit Altan Aruna

Savit is the “innocent” of the trio/potential quad, despite his own lack of sexual and nudity taboos. While Arkaitsz teases him with Nila when she’s around, without her, their dynamic is fairly calm and quiet. Savit’s went through, essentially, semi-voluntary long term solitary confinement, and that had . . . effects. He is intensely touch starved for one. If no one is touching him, and he’s not doing something active, then sometimes he’ll just . . . fade out. And it’s impossible to get him to wake up, and if you do manage, then he’s not really there for a good three or four hours. On their own, the fade outs can last anywhere from 30 seconds to half a day. Woken up, the consequences can last a day or two. So Arkaitsz is pretty much always touching him if they’re in the room. Arkaitsz doesn’t have anything for the group they can do as a time filler, so when together alone they tend to 1) consume/discuss some form media, sometimes Kimana stuff Nila recommended as a prelude to discussion with her, 2) Arkaitsz does research/analysis on plant stuff while Savit does his group computer time filler, 3) they dance together. They’ve found that besides the obvious benefits of sexy dancing (even for an Ace and purposefully neutral biology), the dancing has made things easier for Savit to read Arkaitsz in combat situations while escaping or hiding, and when to switch between the two.

Miron Ise

Arkaitsz thinks of Miron as desired future sibling-in-law, and also kind of apprentice. Terys and Torkal do a lot of the day to day stuff of taking care of Miron, who even after a decade still really isn’t used to choices, and it’s Terys who has the leashed dog spell for the future, but is Arkaitsz who approximates Sith and Master closest in Miron’s mind. Arkaitsz killed Miron. For a second, but it happened. Miron isn’t used to choices, to having choices, to having no structure. Arkaitsz killed Miron, so obviously Miron’s mind put them at the top.

Moros Ise

Part of the push for the trio to quartet was genuinely Nila’s cultural comfort. But. Part of the reason Nila wanted to push was that they were all attracted to Moros. Arkaitsz was genuinely attracted to Moros before anyone knew Moros existed, and was uncomfortable with it for similar reasons to their discomfort with Nila - they were seeing Moros peeking out of Miron, who they kinda-not-really-but-essentially saw as their apprentice in a Sith fashion, and Sith apprentices are extremely vulnerable to their Masters. It made them grumble to Isha about being attracted to people vulnerable to them and what it said about them. They were genuinely very relieved to learn about Moros as Miron, and even more so as Moros, becoming more comfortable, began to act distinctively differently (more comfortable with Leroti body structure, trained in dancing rather than fighting), and even more relieved when they realized that the traits they were attracted to were overall Moros rather than Miron and they found the Miron traits they were attracted to became no longer so strongly attractive once no longer part of a single person. Moros is not unaware of Arkaitsz’s attraction, but not aware that is focused on Moros rather than Miron and isn’t ready to be attractive or in a relationship.

Atorm Itnal

New padawan of Isha and currently and noticeably the youngest, with associated developmental needs, which is going to create a new dynamic. Prior to all this though their main association was as the part of the group that could actually fight. Atorm can use a lightsaber, and does sometimes, but doesn’t actually do so often because they’re either acting as the pilot, or supporting with a blaster. Communicates blaster needs with Arkaitsz. On Atorm’s dreams, Arkaitsz is surprised at their general clarity and actionability, even the mass of minor visions could be used to prevent death from what they can tell, which is very unusual.

Tinor Jason

Not very close. Arkaitsz is the one who communicates the needed medical supplies when supply runs happen as part of 2nd in command duties.

Treis Kelech

Not very close, but in close communication over planning. Where Treis does the long term planning and Isha the short term, Arkaitsz does a lot of the communication logistics. As I’ve written, Treis can and does on occasion look into what everyone else is doing. But in the normal course of operations, Arkaitsz is the one doing that, both on the computer and talking about needs/desires and keeping track of inventory. Unintentional at the time - but them being the one to reach out at the start of the fic was what they do. Arkaitsz doesn’t tend to participate in Treis and Savit’s role playing games because they’ve got some slight decision fatigue and would rather not participate in even the very removed simulated combat of the rpgs.

Isha Kiri'e

Isha was Arkaitsz’s mentor in the AgriCorps. While Arkaitsz genuinely didn’t know much about the agriculture side of things, Arkaitsz’s general knowledge and Sith knowledge bases were wide enough and academic tendencies big enough that Isha ended up treating Arkaitsz as a colleague from a different field picking up a new field rather than as a student proper - hence why they kept in friendly contact and continued to work closely even after Arkaitsz was done with academic learning. Isha kept in contact after Arkaitsz’s internship ended, and sent Arkaitsz crystals - initially lightsaber grade in an attempt to find one that worker, but as time went on more just because/emergency backup cash. Currently Arkaitsz functions as Isha’s second in command, not because Isha is more commanding, but because that’s what the others assumed the hierarchy was and Arkaitsz didn’t care enough to dispute it.

Nila Sini

Arkaitsz’s partner in teasing Savit. Nila’s mindset is kind of weird in the sort of way where in urban fantasy she would 100% date a vampire, and it would start out for her as 100% for all the cultural information, both vampiric and human, that she could get. Nila and Arkaitsz work really well improving off each other, and Nila draws Arkaitsz to be more expressive and happy in relaxed settings. Arkaitsz on the other hand, is good at getting Nila to be all smooth the way they’ve found works for them gathering information as stripper bars. Arkaitsz also tends to be more careful around Nila when alone due to the whole mind rebuilding thing. Nila had to actively push to get Arkaitsz to consider anything, and for a while there there Arkaitsz was really dipping bad Dark over guilt and despair before Terys, as kind of the expert in this crew in philosophical arguments about freedom (though 100% among his people he’s a jock who barely skims the surface), steps in, and gets Tinor to do an examination, but it don’t get truly resolved until Miron, Inquisitor Mind Fucked Over own self, who would know, checks for lines of influence.

Terys Osseri

Not super close, but Arkaitsz is half part of the Dark side club and can debate theologies as an insider. Terys wasn’t an expert in Itana Sect theology and rules prior to this actually, being more of a fighter, and he’s still more interested in fighting, but the Dark side theology comparisons both interest him and put him at ease in a way his own people and the lightsiders interest couldn’t. Arkaitsz and him find each other particularly interesting because of their mutual morals - with Terys’s systemically encoded while Arkaitsz’s are individual and at odds with (varyingly) both of the cultural systems they’re willing to talk about.

Torkal Rheiss

Not very close, mostly think of each other in relation to Isha. Torkal is kind of part of the Darkside club kind of not, so they also see each other in that context. That makes Torkal feel kind of more weird about Arkaitsz because of how Arkaitsz can, on occasion shift their presence so completely without either being a lie. As a consequence, Torkal sometimes asks Arkaitsz for lessons on that purposeful perception projection.
